the best stamp shop ever

chica ink in wickford is a miniature stamp wonderland!  as you step inside, walls of beautiful stamps surround you and suddenly you're sucked in to stamp paradise.  there are so many varieties, sizes, flowers, faces, oh my!  every shelf is lined with stamps.  its difficult to leave the store, you sort of want to hang out for a while and just stare at everything.  at least I had that problem. . .I just felt like stamping everything.  if you are a stamper/crafter, you MUST go to chica ink and I have to go back!

the lady next door

this past sunday afternoon I had the pleasure of checking out a second hand shop in warren called the lady next door.  what I found inside was a bounty of beautiful vintage clothing, jewelry, accesories, and ephemera.  I wanted to share a couple images of my findings:

there are plenty more of second hand, vintage and antique stores all over rhode island.  I will definitely keep you updated on more of my discoveries!

two weeks but feels like four

Where do I even begin?  How about at the beginning . . . I moved to Rhode Island two weeks ago, into a very nice apartment, in a wooded area with geese and deer.  There's a pond down the street and I'm only five minutes from water at all times, ten minutes from the beach as well.  Let's just all agree on one thing, Rhode Island Rules!

I started my new job with Blind Faith Pictures as their Director of Art and Design.  Ever since I arrived everyone I've met, the people, the artists, and the designers have all been so welcoming.  I truly feel as though I have moved to the right city, at the right time, with the right people.

Adjusting to a life in the film, art, and entertainment industry has been easy to a degree.  We tend to do a lot more work at night, requiring long hours and late, late nights.  Brainstorming, talking out ideas, laughing, expressing passions and dreams have all been regular themes among my new friends when we are together.  We work hard and we play hard.

In ten days we are hosting the biggest party Rhode Island has ever seen.  We are launching not only Blind Faith Pictures but other film companies as well in our showcase event.  I am curating a visual art gallery and fashion show for the event.  Ever since I arrived on March 5th, I haven't stopped working towards making it an amazing art show.  The artists and designers I've met in Providence have been some of the most talented I've ever met in my life and it is such an honor to be in charge of bringing them together for one big show.  I've not only found artists, I've made friends.

Sounds cheesy but I love my new life.  I'm so happy I moved to Rhode Island.  I fit in perfectly here and I can't wait to start production on our films.... its going to be one big dream come true, for many involved.  Jump aboard if you like and watch us take off across the world!
